Im not the Political Type and truly speaking there is very little I can do to help Africa.I strongly Believe in Africanism to the core thou.I believe that we have the power within ourselves to be free from the shackles that bond us.
However the struggle for the emancipation of Africa from political issues,poverty,war and diseases seems to be getting worse,the big question is when will we finally succeed in our fight for complete liberation cause clearly the struggle still continues
I was not around in the times of Apartheid,I don’t know what its like to live an oppressed life,to be treated less than an animal,I don’t know what its like to have to carry a pass in your own motherland,to be told to your face how Inferior your are because of your colour.One thing I know thou is that alot of people fought really hard for me to finally be free in my own country,people like Oliver tambo and nelson Mandela.they went on to prove that truly nothing is impossible no matter how bad things may seem.
What made this people so powerful to me is their state of mind.They knew who they were fighting and they knew how to fight.
Today however we seem not to know who the enemy is and worse we don’t know how to fight,the reason why people continue to Die in our country today is because of ignorance.
Why ignorance? Well ill focus on a major issue at the moment which is HIV/AIDS.Millions of people around the world die every year because of this disease and Africa is one of the worst affected.
Since prevention is known to be better than cure you ask someone what must be done to stop the spread of this epidermic and one simple points to the government.I know there is something the government can do to help,and they have invested millions in the fight against HIV already yet people are still getting infected daily.clearly this is beyond the them
I switch my TV on to see an advertisement about a young girl living positively with HIV,she talks about her struggles and tells us that she still plans to continue living regardless.All this is heartbreaking.
While so much emphases is placed on HIV infected people I think that more should be placed on those not yet infected.Self empowerment and individual mental growth is the Key.People get continue to get affected purely because they have little knowledge.I think if we empower ourselves on a personal level our struggle against HIV will be won.
Lack of knowledge or simply ignorance is our enemy.All this are simply opinions
